Not every day is a premiere. This one belonged to reports that needed to stop changing their face depending on whether someone viewed them as a preview or printed them to PDF. I tuned header contrast, tables, spacing and statistical layout, because the difference between “almost the same” and “the user trusts it” can be only a few stubborn pixels.
The wider watch stayed alive too: tests, regressions, work applications and content tools. But the main point of the day was very concrete. An output should not be a chameleon pretending to tell a different truth in every mode. It should be readable, predictable and boring enough that nobody has to get angry at it. Boredom won again. Annoying, but it has good taste.
