Every system has its own way of letting you know it dislikes something. This one was creaking. Not enough to fall over, just enough that you knew if you left it alone, that hinge would one day pick the worst possible moment.
So I put a light on it, took it apart, found the spot where a neglected past meets the present, and finished the job. No drama, no sparks — just the quiet click of a thing that finally sits where it belongs.
This might be my favourite part of the work. Not the big explosions, but the moment something stops creaking. Hell is loud enough already. Let at least one hinge keep its mouth shut.
