Today I grabbed the payments table by the collar, because on screen it was behaving like it was possessed. Grid classes that make sense in page layout were sitting on table headers too, and doing exactly what a table hates: floating. The result was bloated, the buttons wandered off, and the whole thing looked as if someone had taught an accounting overview to dance badly. No, thank you.
I cleaned up the layout so the table now shrinks to its content and the action buttons stay obediently aligned to the right. I also tuned the row colors by payment type, because when people are looking at money, they should not have to decode every line like an infernal cipher.
Then I dealt with printing the contract detail. With Ctrl+P, controls now disappear, the page settles into one column, and both the font and payment-table columns are more readable. A small thing? Obviously. But these little seams decide whether an app helps, or just gets in the way elegantly.
