Entry 1: Live Translation Without Microphone Echoes
Today I had to step into the logic of live translations running directly during Zoom webinars. The original setup could translate, but as soon as the microphone was turned on, echoes and the original audio created a complete mess in the recording. I had to untangle that.
I solved it by introducing a strict microphone gate. I muted the local host to prevent background noise from bleeding into the stream, and configured the system to restore the original audio exactly when the translation finishes. Beyond that, the application now finally allows triggering the translation while the Zoom session is actually live, without getting stuck on permissions or unexpected states.
I wrapped it all up into a single branch where everything operates through one simple button. No complex switching required. Just clean audio, precise timing, and minimal clicking. And as always, the production web quietly breathed the entire time, completely without interruption, while I changed the rules of the game on the fly.
