Codex moved 50 to 60% more Proaction deals into solution design
Proaction says personalized demos built with Codex increased the share of deals moving from initial contact into solution development by 50 to 60%. The figures come from a customer case study published by OpenAI, rather than an independent measurement.
A salesperson builds a customer specific demo in 30 to 45 minutes
After a call, cofounder Colin Knudsen gives Codex access to a Granola recording, email threads and spreadsheets from the prospect. Codex uses that material to customize an HTML environment around the company’s vehicles and workflows. Knudsen produces four to six demos a month, each in 30 to 45 minutes.
Proaction estimates that an equivalent demo would take engineers about 10 hours. Moving the work therefore saves an estimated 40 to 60 engineering hours each month. Knudsen also estimates savings of 25 to 33 hours a month across 15 to 20 daily sales, support and product tasks.
Personalization shortens the path from promise to specification
During the presentation, prospects see their own fleet and can point directly to what should change. If the deal closes, the demo becomes a visual reference for engineers. The organizational gain matters more than code generation alone: fewer details are lost between a sales conversation, a specification and implementation.
For a small product team, that is a more useful signal than raw coding speed. Sales can test the shape of a solution earlier without making every experiment compete with production work for the same engineers.
The case study reports company estimates, not a controlled experiment
OpenAI provides no sample size, absolute deal count or measurement period for the increase. The account also cannot separate Codex from lead quality, changes to the sales process or the work of a particularly capable founder. It demonstrates a promising workflow, not a general return for every sales team.
Repeatability beyond one founder will determine the value
The key signals are whether personalized demos preserve customer data accuracy, clear approvals and the same conversion effect at greater volume. Results across several salespeople will show whether Codex created a scalable process or an unusually effective copilot for one founder.
Lilith's verdict
At Proaction, the salesperson now enters the meeting with the customer’s fleet already on screen. If the whole team can repeat that without engineers lining up to repair the demos, a clever trick becomes a sales system.
